How Varebo scores a listing

01

Photos first

Guests decide from the first few photos. We check each one for the room it shows, lighting, and composition, plus whether your cover photo is a real hero shot.

02

Shot coverage

Every listing needs the exterior, living area, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom, plus at least one "wow" shot like a pool, view or outdoor space.

03

Words that book

Titles need a specific hook within 50 characters. Descriptions should open with the best feature and stay easy to skim. We rewrite both for you.

The quick vacation rental listing checklist

Photos

  • Lead with your single best image: the view, the pool, or a bright exterior. Not a bathroom, not a close-up.
  • Shoot every room in daylight with all lights on, from a corner, at chest height, with a wide lens.
  • Aim for 20–30 photos so guests can picture every room. The first 5 do most of the selling.
  • Order photos like a walkthrough: hero shot, living area, kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms, outdoor space, amenities.
  • Hide personal items, cords, trash cans and toiletries before shooting.

Title

  • Airbnb titles max out at 50 characters. Use them on the thing guests filter for: oceanfront, pool, walk to beach, pet friendly.
  • Skip filler words like "beautiful," "amazing" and "cozy." Specifics win.

Description

  • Open with the strongest selling point in the first sentence; that's what shows in previews.
  • Keep paragraphs short. Cover sleeping arrangements, what's nearby, and what makes the stay easy.
  • Never promise an amenity you don't have. Mismatches turn into bad reviews.

FAQ

Is Varebo really free?

Yes. No account, no email required. Run as many checks as you like (there's a shared daily limit, so if it's busy, try again tomorrow).

Do you store my photos or listing?

No. Photos are resized in your browser, analyzed, and discarded. Nothing is saved on our side, unless you click "Share my report": then a copy of the report with small photo thumbnails is saved for 60 days so the link works.

Why only 8 photos?

The first photos are what guests see in search results and the gallery preview, so they matter most. Upload them in the same order as your listing.

Can I paste my Airbnb link instead?

Not yet. Airbnb and VRBO block automated access to their pages, so copy-and-paste is the reliable way. It takes 30 seconds.

How accurate is the score?

It's a guide, built from the things that reliably move bookings: photo quality, shot coverage, cover image, title and description. Use it to find your weakest spot, then fix that first.
